More Than a Studio: How Headprint Became a Space for Art, Community, and Experience
There's a moment when a brand stops being just a business and actually becomes a place. For us, that moment happened when we built a full event space above our original Cow Hollow location and dedicated it to something bigger than haircuts: a space for people to come together, create, and experience something real.
Building a Stage for the Community
Building out a dedicated live experience and event space was never a calculated marketing move. It was a creative one. We wanted a place where the full spirit of what Headprint represents could actually breathe, somewhere clients, artists, performers, and community members could step inside the world we were building and genuinely play in it.
What followed was a run of events that didn't fit neatly into any one category. Comedy shows. Pop-up art galleries. Jewelry-making classes. Drag makeup workshops. Local artists brought their work to life in the space. Brands launched collections there. Performers took the floor. And somewhere along the way, we became known for something beyond great hair: great experiences.
The Events That Made This Space What It Is
Some of the most memorable nights we've hosted felt more like cultural happenings than anything you'd expect from a hair studio. Comedy shows brought laughter and community into the room. Art markets gave local creators an actual platform. Jewelry classes turned a random Tuesday into something people were still talking about weeks later. Drag makeup workshops celebrated artistry, identity, and pure joy.
Every single event was curated on purpose, built around the same values that run through everything we do: creativity, inclusion, community, and the belief that beauty extends way past the mirror.
Why This Actually Works
In a world where people are bombarded with content nonstop, the most powerful thing a brand can give someone isn't an impression, a click, or a view. It's a memory. Something they felt. Something that made them laugh. Something that made them feel like they belonged.
That's what this space has always been about. When you invite people into your world and give them something worth experiencing, they don't just remember you, they become part of it. They tell their friends. They come back. They bring people with them.
A Safe Space, By Design
Here's the part we'll say plainly: this space was always meant to be safe. Safe for queer people. Safe for artists. Safe for anyone who just wants to show up as themselves. In San Francisco, that matters. Honestly, everywhere, that matters.
We built a room where people could actually be themselves, and more than anything else, that's what's made it special.
